For perhaps, 10 years I was told by my almost 16 year old (who by the way was just returned from the alien abduction, thank goodness!......ohh and he seems to be in the same shape as when they took him and left me with a strange child I've never met, nor raised) anyways...I was told "Mom, I want to be a Lawyer when I grow up." My response is, AWESOME.....that will cost a fortune, lets make sure your grades are high enough so you can earn scholorships and get grants. LOL but honestly I was thinking to myself ~ hey....that might mean my older child will perhaps want to pay some of my bills with his fat salary. hahahahahah....well my thoughts in my mind were deflated when I was informed this year~ "Mom, I want to be a Cop when I grow up."
Gasp?
You want to be a Cop? You want to put your self in harms way on a daily ....minute by minute basis......carry a weapon, and make your mother worry for the rest of her life? Oh dear God!?!
How does this happen? Well sure sure, it's the same field ...in a round about way, but a COP? Did I share my wishes of what I wanted to be way too many times (side note- I've always wanted to be a cop from the time I was 12....ahem, and then I had children-----lots of children)
Well this boy of mine, has his Mothers blessings and thumbs up~ ONLY IF HE GOES TO COLLEGE FIRST. That is the stipulation ~ must get Bacherlors in something.....substantial.
So no American University, George Washington University, or UCLA....it's ASU for this boy of mine. Well I guess one good thing out of all of this is, he will be within driving distance and he can bring his laundry home for Mother to wash each weekend. hahahaha!
I have some time to adjust to this thought: My first born...My AMR: COP!
